With this method of whitening, the dentist will take an impression of your teeth to make a mouth guard-like tray. Then, you will be provided with instructions on how to fill the tray with a bleaching agent. Using your mouthguard at home, you regularly apply the gel and place it over the teeth for one to several hours a day, for up to 4 weeks. It is essential to follow your dentist’s instructions and avoid placing the gel over your gums. In case of any teeth or gum sensitivity during the whitening, you should contact your dentist to rearrange the process.
